Some information about water damages
In this blog I will be giving you some information that would be very helpful if you were to ever have a flood. As you might not have known there are 3 categories of water.
Category 1- this is sanitary water which does not pose substantial risk. However, once sanitary water leaves the exit point, it may not remain sanitary once it comes into contact with surfaces or other materials that contain contaminates.
Category 2- this is water that is significantly contaminated and has the potential to cause discomfort or sickness if anyone comes into contact or is consumed by humans.
Category 3- This is water that is grossly contaminated and can cause pathogenic, toxigenic or other harmful agents and can cause significant adverse reactions. Requires PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Porous materials generally discarded. Carpet and pad ALWAYS removed.
Any category of water damage can be stressful. Get a professional to clean it up and this will help take that stress of your shoulders. The most important part of all of this is the safety of our customers and their family. If you ever have a water damage please give SERVPRO of Northwest Albuquerque a call at (505)503-8627.
